I am honored to assume the role of Chief Editor of the Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs and Management. As a scholar in the field of public administration, I look forward to working closely with the editorial board, reviewers, authors, and readers to further strengthen the journal as a trusted platform for rigorous, innovative, and policy‑relevant scholarship. Building on the strong foundation established by previous editorial leadership, my vision is to enhance the journal’s contribution to advancing knowledge and practice in public administration, public affairs, and management, while encouraging interdisciplinary perspectives and diverse methodological approaches.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Professor Anchana NaRanong, the former Chief Editor of the journal, for her outstanding leadership and dedication. Her contributions to the journal’s academic direction, editorial management, and overall development have played a vital role in strengthening its quality and reputation.

Moving forward, I am committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and scholarly excellence in all aspects of the publication process. The journal will continue to emphasize high‑quality research that demonstrates strong validity and reliability and contributes meaningfully to both theory and practice. I warmly invite scholars and practitioners from Thailand and the international community to submit their work and engage with the journal as we strive to enhance its quality, visibility, and impact in the field.

Happy New Year 2026!

We are pleased to announce the publication of the year-end 2025 issue in celebration of the New Year.

This issue marks the final volume in which I serve as Chief Editor, upon the completion of my three-year term in this position. Throughout my tenure, I have undertaken sustained efforts to advance the journal from a national-level publication (TCI Tier 1), with its final issue published in December 2022 under the title The Thai Journal of Public Administration, to its current edition as The Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs, and Management. The journal is continually making progress toward our goal of meeting the Scopus journal selection criteria.

This advancement required substantial and systematic development, including the transition of the journal’s language of publication from Thai to English, the renaming of the journal from The Thai Journal of Public Administration to The Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs, and Management, and the consistent expansion of the number of articles published per issue from the original five.

I wish to extend my profound appreciation to the researchers, scholars, and contributors who entrusted the journal with their work. I am also sincerely grateful to the reviewers whose rigorous and insightful evaluations ensured the academic quality, methodological soundness, and scholarly value of the published articles, thereby contributing to the advancement of social scientific knowledge.

I further extend my deepest gratitude to the members of the editorial board, the journal committees, and the journal staff for their professionalism, commitment, and invaluable support, which collectively enabled the journal’s continued development and progression to a higher academic standing.

I would also like to welcome the new Chief Editor, Associate Professor Dr. Boon-Annan Phinaitrup, who previously served as Editor of the Journal of Public and Private Management. Her extensive editorial experience will be invaluable in supporting the journal’s continued development, academic advancement, and future success.

All the best,

Anchana NaRanong

Greetings from the Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs, and Management!

Starting with this volume (volume 21 number 1 January – June 2023), our journal has made significant changes, broadening our scope and continuing our journey to becoming an international, Scopus-indexed platform. In reflection of our broadened scope, we have changed our journal’s name from the Journal of Public Administration to the Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs, and Management.

We are continually making progress toward our goal of meeting the journal selection criteria of Scopus. We have increased the accessibility and visibility of our publications and peer-reviewed content, along with registering an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), both print and online. We have added, and will continue to add, content that is relevant for and readable by an international audience. For readers of our journal, we hope these changes improve your enjoyment and allow further knowledge to be gained from our journal articles. For authors, we expect that these changes will improve our citation rankings and the visibility of our published articles.

I strongly encourage you to submit your work for publication in our journal, and enthusiastically invite you to cite our articles. Submissions from around the globe are encouraged; we aim to increase diversity in the geographical distribution of our authors. We would make sure that your articles are processed with no delays or interruptions in the publication schedule.

All manuscripts and editorial communications should be sent via the ThaiJo Online Submission System, by logging on to ThaiJo Online. First-time users are required to register before making submissions. After registration, authors may also enter submissions via our website pa.gspajournal.com, which links to the ThaiJo system.

You can receive regular updates on our journal, including updates on recent publications, calls for research papers, and more, by following our Facebook page: Facebook JournalofPaPaM.

I truly hope that you will continue to enjoy and benefit from the publications in our journal.

Dr. Anchana NaRanong
Chief Editor

We are proud to announce that, as of the 2023-01 edition, we will change our name to the Journal of Public Administration, Public Affairs, and Management.
With the approach of this transition, we continue to welcome any submissions by parties working in these, or related fields. Future editions of the journal will be published in English and are available for online viewing, allowing for increased visibility for citations. The journal welcomes all readers, and open its pages to all professionals who may share an interest in publication, citation, and the spreading of knowledge.
